About T. Paul Boatner

Dr. T. Paul Boatner is from Jacob’s line (through Lawrence, Jacob, James and Thomas) and only recently became interested in genealogical work.  His grandfather died when his father was only five months old.  So his connections to his father’s family (the Boatners) was not intact.

Born in 1946 this native Californian has a wide range of interests which have given him the opportunities to be involved in a great number of endeavors, with the most recent being the founding of boatners.com.

Dr. Boatner is a career educator.  He has worked in the college and university setting since 1968, with twenty-five of those years spent in college administration (including eleven years as a college vice president.)  He is currently serving as a college counselor, a position which he has held since requesting to return to faculty status in 1995.

He has served on the board of Christian Heritage College in El Cajon, California, as well as writing the degree completion program in Human Development for that college.  He has additionally served as the president of his local chamber of commerce (a position which earned him two Congressional Distinguished Service Awards, State Assembly District Citizen of the Year, and San Diego’s East County Citizen of the Year.)

He has an earned Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of Southern California, a Masters Degree in Counseling from California State University – Fullerton, a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southern California Bible College and Seminary as well as two Bachelors Degrees (in Bible and Psychology) from Biola University in La Mirada, California.

In addition to his position as a college counselor, Dr. Boatner maintains a private marriage and family counseling intern practice and teaches in both undergraduate and graduate programs in the San Diego area.
